This activity targets improved understanding of the pronouns “He” and “She.” This packet includes a PowerPoint with three interactive teaching levels and four practice worksheets for each level. Interactive PowerPoint contains 15 trials per each level. The first slide for each task targets the pronoun by asking a question related to a depicted picture, and the following slide for each task answers the question by displaying the correct pronoun in a sentence format.
LEVEL 1 - Teaches “He” & “She” using visual and textual cues to increase independence with basic understanding of pronouns. This technique is applied to the accompanying worksheets as well.
LEVEL 2 – Fades the use of visual cues (but maintains the use of textual cues) in order to progress student’s level of independence with tasks. Visual cues are faded on accompanying Level 2 worksheets.
LEVEL 3 – Fades the use of textual cues in order to progress student’s level of independence with tasks. Textual cues are faded on accompanying Level 3 worksheets.
*This was created for students with intellectual difficulties who were having struggling with pronouns. Using a more structured approach of targeting only the most concrete pronouns initially with the aid of visual cues, they have become successful, allowing for the fading of cues, and eventually beginning to target other pronouns.
