Description
If you’re looking for a way to directly teach what pronouns are in an inclusive, explicit, and functional way? Look no further!
This completely digital resource targets using the pronouns he/him/his, she/her/hers, and they/them/their/theirs. It provides practice using ‘they’ for singular people, unknown people, when you don’t know someone’s pronouns, AND to describe groups of people (all in separated sections with direct teaching).
Three file formats are included: Boom Cards™️, Google Slides™️ and PowerPoint™️.
There are two different digital activities/levels included this resource:
LEVEL ONE
This level includes color-coded drag-and-drop icons to formulate sentences about a variety of people. It begins with a direct teaching section where pronouns are introduced. On the practice pages for this level, each person is introduced with their name and pronouns. Then, your student can practice making sentences about that person using their pronouns! Singular he, she, and they are the pronouns targeted. There are also sections for using ‘they’ to describe groups of people as well as ‘they’ to talk about unknown people or people when we don’t know their pronouns.
LEVEL TWO
This advanced level is great for older students. It is text only and includes several sentences about a person. Your students are asked to drag the correct pronoun from a box of choices (he/him/his OR she/her/hers OR they/them/their/theirs) to complete a few sentences about a person. On every slide, your students are given the person’s name, pronouns, and a few sentences about them (to show examples of their pronouns in context!) before they’re asked to drag the correct pronouns into the correct sentences.
Level one is 152 pages long and divided into two sections. Level two is 47 pages long. A direct teaching section is included for both levels.
And YES! You can move around the icons within this resource! That means you can delete them from pages and copy/paste them between pages (to add incorrect word choices, for example) on both Google Slides™️ and PowerPoint™️ versions.
