To help students understand the editing process, I have them move to different stations while they proofread one another's work. This helps them to see each component of editing and it also allows them to get up and moving around the classroom. Each table has one of these tasks on it. I put about 4 students at each table. The students are at each table for about 5 minutes and then they move to the next table. I have them read a different student's work at each station. While they are at that station they are to only revise for what the station calls requests.
