PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson documents examples of propaganda in our mass media. It explains common propaganda techniques and gives examples of when propaganda has been passed off as news. (Assertion that Iraq and Al Qaeda were linked and the existence of WMDs in Iraq) It looks at how propaganda infects reporting on the Afghan War and America’s controversial drone strikes. It challenges students to recognize that they are raised in a world of constant propaganda. The lesson also includes essential questions and links to all materials referenced. The teacher is free to modify the lesson in any manner that facilitates its use in the classroom. (This product has been very successfully classroom tested)
