Product Description
This Smartboard lesson reviews contractions, but then further explains to students the proper use of contractions when writing. Notes can be taken when a slide is shown comparing contractions used long ago and slang contractions. Examples are given that demonstrate how contractions are reflected in informal speech and writing. Voice, slang, and dialect examples are also given so students can see when and where not to use them in writing. Business, law, and formal writing is addressed as well. Many pcture examples in our daily life and environment are shown and students can correct mistakes made. (They love to see these slides)! This contraction lesson goes above and beyond your typical base lesson on what contractions are.
