Commutative, associative, and identity properties of addition are all included in this group of activities which are not intended to be used in any specific order. Rather, you should examine all that is included in this pack and see which of the activities will best suit your students’ needs.
The first three pages are meant to allow students to discover the properties of addition by examining examples. Sometimes students are given opportunities to prove the property and apply the property.
Page 6 is intended to be a sorting activity. Cut the strips apart and use the first three as headings. Then, students can sort the remaining cards under the correct headings.
24 task cards, recording sheet, spinner activities, and a quiz are also included!
Numbers, pictures, and symbols are all used to represent the properties.
