This assessment is in depth and lengthy but students will not forget what they have created. It consists of FIVE components:
1. Create a mobile.
2. Create a poem, song, jingle, or acronym that is going to help
remember the rules for at least one Property of Exponents.
3. Each member of the group must create two practice problems making sure that each property has been addressed. They must also have a correct answer key. Then later shared with the class.
4. Find one example of how exponents are used in the Real World. Add this example to their practice problem sheet.
5. Presentation Day!
Have them work at home on the project as well so that you are not taking up so much class time (for example: coming up with their jingle/poem or assembling their mobile can be done at home).
Good Luck and Have Fun!!
