Students practice the sum/product property, subtraction/division property, and the power property of logarithms through 28 "Condense" questions.
These questions use all base 10 and also only "a" and "b" instead of number values so that students won't be able to make guesses about the answer by matching bases from the question to the answer or something else.
You will download a powerpoint with each question on its own slide (28 questions) that you can print out and post around a room or open area in a mixed up fashion so that student have to hunt for their answer. The phrase it spells out is "EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK X" so that you can help students keep track of where they went wrong. You will also download a page with space for student work.
This activity could fill 20 - 45 minutes, depending on how well your students understand the topic. I found this activity was excellent practice to reinforce properties of logarithms.
