I created this lesson to help students understand properties of matter. Easy to use, just download, print and teach!
This lesson includes:
An Engage/Warm-up activity: Student will describe a room in their house. You can use this to start a conversation about properties.
Anchor Chart: There is a teacher version that you can project on your board, that will help you teach about Matter Properties. Print the student version for your class to add to their science journals. There are blank spaces for them to fill in while you teach.
Collaborate/Group activity: Your students will play a game. Using the cards that are included, students will describe the object on the card and their partner will try to guess it correctly. A game board is included in the file.
After your students play the game, there are rigorous discussion questions that will help prepare them for standardized testing.
Harness/Individual work: Students will read the story of Roxie and the experiment in Dr. Phil Beaker's room, and answer questions using what they have learned about Properties of Matter.
Quiz/Success! There is a quiz included so that you can assess what your class has learned.
Also included: Complete lesson instructions and an answer key
I hope you enjoy this lesson, and I hope it makes your job a little easier!
