This foldable requires students to identify the physical properties of matter and how those properties are used to observe, identify, and classify matter. This interactive notes page allows students to use rich images to help them build connections to the content. Not only do they learn basic information about each property of matter, they also think about how each one is represented visually and how we measure or observe each one.
Big idea: The world around us is made of matter, and by knowing different physical properties of matter, we are able to measure, categorize, and describe the objects in our everyday lives. This introduction to the physical properties of matter provides the foundation for all studies in the physical sciences.

5.5C – TSIET i identify changes that can occur in the physical properties of the ingredients of solutions such as dissolving salt in water or adding lemon juice to water.
