This is a great and simple graphic organizer for students to use to identify the important properties that make up each mineral. It covers the Georgia Performance Standard:
S3E1. Students will investigate the physical attributes of rocks and soils.
a. Explain the difference between a rock and a mineral.
b. Recognize the physical attributes of rocks and minerals using observation (shape, color, texture), measurement, and simple tests (hardness).
Students can add each mineral property into the web (graphic organizer) through whole-group instruction or in cooperative groups with materials to research mineral properties.
