One of my favorite topics to teach all year long is proportional relationships! I wanted my 7th grade students to have a better understanding of proportional relationships and what they mean in real life, so I created this packet. The product includes:
*Graphing Proportions Activity - Students create a table from the given word problem. From there, they write ordered pairs for each value in the table. Students then graph each ordered pair and explain whether or not the relationship is proportional, based on the graph alone.
*Graphing Proportions Homework - This goes along with the classwork activity. Very similar, but intended for student to complete independently.
*Is the Relationship Proportional? Activity - Students determine whether a relationship is proportional based on tables alone. Student will discover three different relationships within tables and use ratios to determine whether or not a relationship is proportional and explain their reasoning.
*Is the Relationship Proportional? Homework - goes along with the classwork, but instead of focusing on the tables, students use the same relationships to graph and explain their reasoning based solely on the graphs.
*Unit Rates (Comparing Knott's vs. Sea World Prices)
*Solving Proportions Problem Solving
*Answer keys are included for classwork activities and homework
*A note for the teacher is included for types of questions to ask and the goal for each activity.
