This is a cooperative learning activity in which students will recognize when a graph is proportional and non-proportional. This can be used as a walk about activity where the students walk around the room assessing the different graphs. The activity comes with a graphic organizer that will clearly allow students to see when a graph is proportional.

This activity is aligned to the common core math standard 7.RP.2a. This is also a great activity to go along with Module 1, The Story of Ratios.

Decide whether two quantities are in a proportional relationship, e.g., by testing for equivalent ratios in a table or graphing on a coordinate plane and observing whether the graph is a straight line through the origin.
