Cooperative learning activity for Proportions Practice. This is a game of speed and accuracy! Students race to complete each problem and grab up the answer before their group members. See Directions page for more specific info about how the game works. =)
Copy page 1 and 2 front to back. (Design on the back is intended to skew problems through the back.) Cut out questions and answers - each group gets a set of problems and answers. Each student gets a work page. Directions may be copied onto the back of the work page, or you may provide one per group.
On the answer page, the far right column of answers are distractors to help keep things interesting. =) The first three columns are true answers that correspond in location to their problems on the question page. (For example, the top left question goes with top left answer.)
Equations are all linear. Many have variables on both sides of the equation.
Place students in groups of 2-4 by ability. Ability grouping allows every student to be competitive within their group. I award a prize or bonus points for each group winner.
Activity may end when students complete all questions or in a specified amount of time.
