This is an environmental unit for teachers who desire well-structured, engaging, cross-curricular and authentic tasks that aid students in the use of technology and collaborative skills as they scan at QR Code stations to evaluate service learning projects. The unit is based on the theme, A Hero that Won't Take No: Keeping Our Town Clean to Grow, and utilizes STEM concepts. This unit is designed to promote an awareness of environmental issues and/or save the environment projects, as well as gain familiarity with the concept of advocacy. This unit will additionally, work well for seasonal learning projects such as Earth Day, and Read Across America.
