Product Description

This product is an AWESOME way for students to perform protein synthesis from start to finish. Students are given 5 different genes and must first transcribe them into mRNA then use the codon wheel to translate the mRNA into a sequence of amino acids. The string of amino acids will unveil the lyrics to a well-known song. I make this activity extra fun by playing the songs in the background while students are working. They love it! It is a great way to give even the most disengaged students a confidence boost! You will need 20 blank index cards for this activity.

Product Includes:

1 teacher notes guide

1 pre-lab for students

1 student copy of lab

1 copy of gene sequence (5 different genes)

1 copy of station labels in large font

1 copy of codon wheel
