This activity is a simple way to review and test your student's knowledge of the process of protein synthesis. Students are asked to identify a structure or process that is taking place within the cell during protein synthesis (all primary structures are covered, for example codon, ribosome, the three primary types of RNA). After recording their answer on the worksheet, they scan an QR code using a cell phone, laptop, or Chromebook to check their answer. They circle yes or no to denote whether they were correct or incorrect. You can also have them use a red pen to correct their answer if you choose to. It is a relatively short activity, but serves as a good quick check or review prior to an assessment on Protein Synthesis. Students enjoy it because it allows for a different format for them to interact with the material, and most of them already know how to scan a QR code. : All iPhone cameras will automatically scan a QR code without the installation of a separate app.
