Product Description
This activity is a card sort matching activity about the four main protists and their important characteristics. The four main protists are according to 7th grade science essential standards: Amobas, Paramecium, Volvox, Euglena. The characteristics included are: How do they move? How do they get their energy? Prokaryote or Eukaryote? Where do they live? How do they get rid of their waste? How do they reproduce? Single-celled or Multicelluar? Special Features? The card sort also includes some basic cell vocabulary, such as prokaryotic, eukaryotic, single-celled, multicellular, autotroph, heterotroph.

Card sorts are a fun and engaging formative assessment, and a great way to build student understanding! Card sorts help students feel excited about challenge and mastery of vocabulary. Students can work at their own pace or challenge each other. Card sorts are good for visual, verbal, and kinesthetic learners. Card sorts can also help students review for a test.
