A fun way to formatively assess if students know the facts about protons, electrons and neutrons! These cards are easily printed on both sides of colored card stock for each subatomic particle, then laminated. Students are passed one card of each type, then asked a series of questions about the particles inside the atom. Students have so much fun with this formative assessment---and you can see their learning clearly!
Includes—Fully Editable PowerPoint!
--WHITE, ready to print pages
--One page (4 cards) for each proton, neutron, and electron, ready to photocopy
--identifying subatomic particle mass, charge, and location within the atom
Example Formative Assessment Questions (not included):
--Which subatomic particle has mass? (Students hold up neutron and proton.)
--Which subatomic particle has a negative charge? (Students hold up electron.)
--Which subatomic particle is inside the nucleus? (Students hold up proton and neutron.)
This activity creates a pathway for success for kinesthetic learners in a dry, worksheet laden topic! My students love it! Enjoy!
