This lab activity allows students to view protozoans under a microscope. Students draw the protozoans and answer questions about their appearances and behaviors.
For this lab, you will need three separate protozoans - Euglena, Paramecium, and Amoeba. Virtually all science supply chains sell them. You will also need basic microscopes, slides, and cover slips. I usually have one for each student, but you can also do this lab in pairs.
I use this lab toward the end of the year to help students to learn about different forms of life and also to review the parts of the cell. Students love it, and they always find the questions challenging and engaging!
The answer sheet is not included because all of the questions are short answer questions, so answers may vary.
