PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This product contains 2 separate sets of pages for 2 separate lessons following the gradual release of responsibility. Each set includes a teacher modeling page (to be used with a doc cam or eno board), pages for the teacher and students to work together, pages for students to work with a partner, homework pages, and an end of lesson quiz.

In the explanation the teacher should model writing for both a true statement and a false statement. Suggestions for the explanations follow.

Explain a true statement: This statement is true because 5+1=6 and 3+3=6. The sums are equal.

Explain a false statement. This statement is false because 5+1=6 but 4+3=7. The sums are not equal.
