This graphic organizer and corresponding notes page and activities guide students through proving each of the 7 special quadrilaterals (parallelogram, rectangle, rhombus, square, trapezoid, isosceles trapezoid and kite) based on distances and slopes alone.
One of the quadrilaterals is proven by example using a four step process I use with my students that works in proving all of the special quadrilaterals. The remaining quadrilaterals are presented in graphic organizer form for students to work through on their own.
This is a great tool to use once students are comfortable with the properties of quadrilaterals and the distance and slope formulas. This activity can be used in a variety of ways from a teaching tool to an assessment tool or just as daily practice.
