Contains a PowerPoint presentation covering Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory of personality.
The PowerPoint is HIGHLY animated and is designed to capture student attention. Each slide has transitions along with rich, moving media. Additionally, a guided note sheet is included in the zip file to help students follow along with the presentation.
Please note that the fonts "Tommy Hilfiger AF" and "Eras Bk BT" are used in these documents. If your computer does not have these fonts installed, it will automatically replace them with a default font, which will cause it to look different than the screenshots indicated and require you to re-format the slides.
Topics covered include:
-- origins of psychoanalytic theory (Freud, the unconscious, free association)
id, ego, and superego
-- stages of psychosexual development (oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital)
-- defense mechanisms (sublimation, projection, rationalization, repression, regression, displacement, projection, reaction formation)
In addition, the powerpoint concludes with some examples of defense mechanisms that students need to appropriately identify.
The powerpoint also includes slides that reference acting skits/scenarios for the id, ego, and superego section and the defense mechanisms. Those skits can be found here
(IES) and here
(DM) if you're interested. (NOTE = WILL BE UPDATED LATER TODAY 9/8/2017)
