Contains a PowerPoint presentation covering the third batch of psychological disorders students need to know about under the newly released DSM-V. This PowerPoint is best used in a course examining psychological disorders, such as a Psychology or AP Psychology class.
The PowerPoint is HIGHLY animated and is designed to capture student attention. Each slide has transitions along with rich, moving media. Additionally, a guided note sheet is included in the zip file to help students follow along with the presentation.
Topics covered include:
-- Somatic Symptom and Related Disorders (Conversion Disorder, Illness Anxiety Disorder)
-- Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders (Reactive Attachment Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment Disorder)
-- Personality Disorders (Antisocial Personality Disorder, Dependent Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder)
After learning about the personality disorders, students engage in a shared writing review activity where they create a scenario where they live in college with a roommate who has one of the personality disorders discussed. They begin the story and then after a few minutes rotate their sheets where someone else will continue the story while continue another student's story about a different disorder.
Please note that the fonts "Stencil Std" and "AbcPrint" are used in these documents. If your computer does not have these fonts installed, it will automatically replace them with a default font, which will cause it to look different than the screenshots indicated and require you to re-format the slides.
