This activity is a pre-reading strategy. Prior to the students beginning a unit in psychology on infancy and childhood, they would take part in this fun activity. This previewing strategy includes vocabulary like imprinting, heredity, egocentric, and morality. It also includes other important questions and prompts that go along with infancy and childhood like parenting styles and abuse. It promotes group discussion and piques students' interest. They enjoy moving around the room and are more involved in small and large group discussions. If you do not have room to move about, it can also be done at students' desks. This is an original carousel created by Christine Fry.
You can also revisit these questions after finishing the unit in order to check for comprehension.
