A interesting part of psychotherapy incorporates dream analysis...I always wanted to do more with interpreting dreams (yes I understand that Freud would say this should not be done outside of a therapist-patient relationship), but whose dreams to interpret...
I did not want the students to get embarrassed by what their dreams might mean so I never really did any analysis in class. I decided what I needed was a generic collection of dreams we could analyze without regard for embarrassing anyone, so here it is! This is a collection of 96 dreams from my 5th period AP psych class.
This dream set can be used for latent content analysis or in conjunction with my dream analysis assignments in which we look at emotions and characters in dreams! Obviously you could use them for other activities too.
This set has been criticized as class work...these are the self reported dreams of my students. They were assigned dream journals and had 7-8 weeks to record their dreams. I am not sure it is appropriate to say to someone "you did not dream that." The student's dreams are whatever they say they are. Where else is someone supposed to get dreams?
