According to many sources names serve as a variety of social indicators, wealth, education, race etc.. We will test our population to see if these indicators are associated with stereotypes in our population. We will know if a stereotype exists if any name is particularly associated with an education level, race, etc. because we are not actually looking at whether these people have a particular attribute but at whether or not our subjects THINK they possess the attribute.
This set also includes a data collection page and some blank graphs so that the students could design their own labs if you wish.
Lab is based on, and inspired by information from the texts Drunk Tank Pink and Freakonomics
