This is an exploration of the biological and psychological sources and responses to fear, including phobias. There is a list of common and uncommon phobias as well as notes about treatment. The lesson also discusses the stigma of mental illness in horror films, discusses why horror films are scary, and discusses the psychological cause of paranormal experiences. It was taught in 12th grade but would be fine at a slightly higher or lower educational level. Also, this was taught before Halloween, though there is no Halloween specific or seasonal mentions or artwork in this lesson.
