This is a stand alone powerpoint for K-2 public issues units - the most difficult to find resource! I use this as an intro to the main concepts in the unit before we begin our own public issue project, and I find that using this unit first gives them a lot of the vocabulary and the project goes much better!
What is a public issue?
How can we tell if the public agrees that this is an issue?
What action steps can we take once we determine a public issue.
This Universally Designed unit is fully audio supported. It can be shown to a class via projector or interactive whiteboard or to individuals sitting at computers.
Each teaching point has a few slides of instruction and then quiz questions. The quiz questions provide positive or negative feedback with detailed explanations about the answers and the user can only move on after selecting a correct answer.
