This is a Summative Assessment Task that I use with Grade 7 and 8 students during the Public Speaking Unit: Persuasive Speech.
This task includes:
-Unit question, Area of Interaction, Significant Concept and Approach to Learning
-Instructions (length, requirements, restrictions)
-Examples of persuasive speeches (written and links to videos) – with handout for what to watch for (example – how was the tone? Use of gestures?)
- Ideas to Get You Started
-Graphic organizers for brainstorming
-Seven steps that are clearly broken down to take them through the process with numerous graphic organizers
- Peer and Self Evaluation Forms
-Teacher Rubrics (one on Content and the other on Style and Language Used)
