Activity to accompany PPT is a KWL chart. Students first fill out before viewing the PPT what they already know about Puerto Rico. As they view the PPT, they fill out what they are learning. The last column "want to know more" leads to a Web Quest.

Students go to the writing lab or library and find the answers to what they wanted to know more about and then turn key the information to their classmates. This incorporates the use of technology, reading and writing, and lastly speaking. Students get two grades. One for their independent research and the other for their oral presentation. If writing labs are not available, it can be assigned for HW.
