Essential Questions:
1) What working conditions led to the development of labor unions?
2) What tactics did labor unions use to try to get their needs met?
3) How did corporations and businesses respond to labor unions?
4) What role did government play in all of this?

This case study asks students to answer these questions based on their reading of several primary sources (links included in PDF--actual sources are online) about the Pullman Strike. After reading through the resources, students have a choice of assignments to complete: a newspaper article, editorial, or set of two political cartoons. Specific instructions are given for each assignment.

Note that the sources are linked to, but not included in the assignment. Students will need access to the internet.
