Part 1: Students will choose a character, historical figure, etc. (whatever category you would prefer) and conduct research regarding that person. They will fill in the graphic organizer with their research.
Part 2: Students will create a four (can be more or less depending on students’ writing skills) paragraph informative writing rough draft using the information from their research.
Part 3: After editing, students will write their final draft.
Part 4: After the final draft is written, they can create the pumpkin to represent their character. Feel free to let students be create and add 3-d aspects (yard for hair)Example: If a student were researching Abraham Lincoln, they could draw his face on the pumpkin and include a top hat and and axe.
Part 5: Glue the final draft and pumpkin person to large construction paper! Perfect for displaying!
