Here are the directions: Please do not copy and paste them and use them for your own use - I worked really hard on this! Thank you!
It is finally October and pumpkins are a symbol of celebrating the Autumn season. We want to celebrate the change in the air with a unique and meaningful learning experience; a pumpkin book report.
Select a book and read it together. You can borrow iit from the library, visit a bookstore, or even ask your child’s teacher to borrow a book if you promise to send it back in the same condition.
Read the book a few times. Have a discussion that focuses on the characters in the story. Discuss the setting and the order of events as well.
Pick one character and turn a pumpkin (small enough that your student can carry it) into that character! You can…
Glue things to it
Get creative as you can
Please don’t carve it or it will rot in the classroom!
Complete the attached book report. This will help your scholar to fully understand the story and all of the things they have been learning about books.
Turn in the project on the due date. Send your scholar in with their pumpkin, the book report, and the book it is based on labeled with their name.
Remember, this project is team effort! Of course your children will need your help, but please remember to let them make decisions, help with the process, and make the project their own.
Each class will choose the top 3 book reports to be featured in a special display! These 3 scholars will receive a certificate of excellence for their hard work.
