Pumpkin Craftivity

In this fall/Halloween activity, students create a pumpkin/jack-o-lantern of their choice. Then using their descriptive writing skills, they will write a letter or a how to (step by step directions) to their partner describing how they made their pumpkin. Using only their written directions, the partners try to recreate one another's pumpkins and see how similar the two pumpkins turned out. A fun way to incorporate Halloween into a hands on writing activity.

This was designed for a second grade class but could be done in a first or third grade class as well.
