This is a great lesson plan for Halloween. It allows students to determine the relationship between the weight of a pumpkin and the thickness of the wall and the number of seeds. While working in groups students will determine the weight of their pumpkin as well as the thickness of the walls and number of seeds. Students will be asked to estimate each of these values before taking the measurements. Included in this lesson plan are notes for the teacher, lab sheets for the students, a grading rubric and a powerpoint presentation. The powerpoint presentation is only 3 slides that I used when discussing the lab with my students. Not very spectacular, but I thought I would add it in with the other things.
