In a Kindergarten classroom, I read them the book "Click, Clack, Moo" and since it was around Halloween time I thought it would be fun to make a graphic organizer that looked like a pumpkin. On the pumpkin I separated it into 3 sections which were beginning, middle, and end. After reading the story to the students I gave them the graphic organizer, which by the way we did as a center. This means I read the book more than once. I liked doing it this way because I only had about 4-5 students to work with at a time. A lot of them struggled with what to put where, so I would ask them leading questions and when they were able to remember they would either write or draw their answer in that section of the graphic organizer. I thought this activity was very successful.
