Description
This packet was designed to be used during a unit on pumpkins or in the fall. The students get to be Pumpkin Investigators (P.I.) and investigate a pumpkin. There are many activities that the students can complete when working with their pumpkins. The packet was designed to be used in a small group, though I can rearrange it to make it for individual students if you would like. The packet follows a 'private investigator' theme.
~Investigator-there is a cover for a boy and a girl
~Mug Shot-draw a picture of your pumpkin
~Background Check-investigate the parts of a pumpkin
~Hunches-predict whether or not you'll like the taste of roasted pumpkin seeds
~Age Enhancing Software-what will our pumpkin look like in 21 days
~AKA-draw our pumpkin after it was carved
The packet is designed for visual learners, with plenty of picture clues. Each student response box is outlined in a different pattern so that you can assist students with finding where their response should go, since many kinders haven't mastered positional or ordinal words yet. Each picture has a label that can be used in recording their responses, and each label was written beginning with a lowercase letter. There are handwriting guide lines for each written response.
