***Updated October, 2015!***
Now includes simple Student Directions for each activity, and more parent volunteer reminder sheets to help get you organized! Fonts have also been updated!

Everything you need to have a fun, learning-filled pumpkin party is included in this pack! This set includes six pumpkin themed stations that students can participate in during the month of October (or anytime you’d like!). None of the activities reference Halloween- only pumpkins! Each activity is aligned to 2nd grade Common Core math standards, although they can be used with any grade level! They can be done during one day with a stations model where students visit different stations in small groups, or over a longer span of time with the whole class. Either way, your students (or kids!) are sure to have such a blast with these hands-on pumpkin activities that they won’t even know they’re learning!

Pumpkin Party Blog Post

Activities included are:

Pumpkin Measurement
Students estimate the circumference of three different sized pumpkins using yarn, then find the actual measurement using measuring tape. Students compare their estimate to the actual lengths!

Pumpkin Bowling
Students use a pumpkin as a “bowing ball” to try to knock down toilet paper “pins” worth different amounts, and add up their score! Great for counting by 5s or 10s and working on adding multiple numbers.

Pumpkin Estimation Station
Students estimate how many candy pumpkins are in a jar, and then group the candies by 10s to find the actual amount. They compare their estimate to the actual amount and find the difference.

Sink or Float
Students survey their friends and predict if a pumpkin will sink or float. They create a bar graph with their results, and then try it out and record their observations!

Make 20
Students play a memory type game where their goal is to flip two cards that make 20.

Odd or Even Seeds
Students pick out a handful of seeds from a pumpkin, count the number of seeds, and determine if the number is odd or even.

Included in this unit are:

*Table signs for each station/activity
*Recording sheets for each activity in color and black & white (you choose!)
*Teacher directions & a list of materials for each activity
*Student directions for each activity ***NEW***
*Volunteer request form
*Donations needed form ***NEW***
