This game is a fun way for students to practice reading short vowel words with initial consonant blends. This game includes 65 cards. With a large selection of words, you can have your students play with the entire deck, or have them practice with specific blends.
Directions: Suitable for 2-4 players. Cut out the pumpkin game cards, and place them in a pile in the middle. I recommend printing them on card stock for durability. Print out as many Pumpkin Patch game boards as needed (one for each player). I recommend laminating these since they can be reused. Players take turns drawing a card from the pile. If they get a pumpkin card, they read the word and place it on top of a pumpkin on their Pumpkin Patch game board. If they get a card with a slice of pie, they must return all of the pumpkins they have collected back to the pile. The first player to fill their game board wins.
You can also play the game without the boards, and just the cards if you would prefer. The player with the most cards at the end of the allotted game time, wins.
