Using a pumpkin in the classroom is a fun way to enhance science and math into your classroom curriculum. Here is an easy and fun way to use that pumpkin from your pumpkin farm field trip! It's always a highlight of October!
Included in this FREE packet is:
*1 group observation form which can be filled out as a large group. With my 3 year old preschoolers, we fill this out together and then I copy it so every child can bring a copy home to share with his/her family.
*1 6-page booklet with the same items as the group observation. This can be completed individually by preschoolers or even kindergarteners!
The different things children will do with their pumpkin include:
1. Draw the pumpkin.
2. Determine if the pumpkin is large, medium, or small.
3. Count the lines.
4. Measure the height in cubes.
5. Predict if the pumpkin will sink or float.
6. Record the outcome of their prediction.
