Printables for Pumpkin Soup to fit in with your fall, beginning of the year, Thanksgiving or food themes.
Pumpkin Soup, by Helen Cooper is one of my newest instant favorites for teaching in the fall. If you haven't heard of this book, I highly recommend getting a copy. With the following activities,, you will find a variety of literacy, math, and social related games and activities:
*4 Venn Diagrams, each relating to one of the following themes and concepts: Sharing, Cooperating, Being Brave, and Setting.
------NOTE: The cooperation and sharing sheets must be paired with any version of the story "Stone Soup."
* A Pumpkin Soup Emotions Sheet, in which your students will dictate or write why the characters felt sad or angry in the story.
** A Worksheet where your students will complete each predictable, sight word based sentence by choosing an item from the box that matches the targeted action word in the sentence.
**A Set of 12 Large, colorful cards featuring characters and items from the story that may be used in retelling events or as word wall cards for vocabulary.
** Help Duck Get Back Home Gameboard
** Pumpkin Soup Roll And Cover Game
** A Pumpkin Soup Emergent Reader with a focus on the sight words "The" and "Can."
** Pumpkin Soup Spin and Graph Math Sheet
I truly hope you and your class love this book as much as we do!!!
