You will love to use these in your Kindergarten classrooms! It was a year long project that covers ELA and Math standards in a fun way for your kiddos. I used these everyday with my class to check their knowledge and it was an opportunity to have a quick conference as well. I used these as an ongoing portfolio that I would show at Parent-Teacher conference nights and I knew that I was meeting the standards with these quick assessments. The activities progressively got more challenging as the year went on.
I began this project because I needed something for my kids to do when they walked into the room as I took attendance and such. I explained to them that there are some workers that have a 'punch card' so that their employers know when they arrive. I wanted the same thing from them. They write their name, date and time before completing the standard based activity on the bottom. After they are finished, they bring the card to me so we can conference about it and then it's added to our "Wall of Wisdom" on their name. On Fridays, we punch a hole in the corder and add it to a ring that continues throughout the year.
Besides writing their name, date, and time everyday, the standards based activities include:
*all alphabet review
*shapes: 2D and 3D
*addition/subtraction with dice and dominoes
so much more! It's everything you need to assess your kids!
