Product Description
This PowerPoint contains 33 unique slides. It was designed to introduce your students to the rules associated with punctuating titles. Students will be taught when to underline titles, when to italicize titles, and when to place titles in quotation marks.

This PowerPoint introduces students to the punctuation rules in a logical and systematic way. The PowerPoint begins with having students differentiate PARTS of literary works, and WHOLE complete literary works. For example, when students determine that chapters are "parts" of a bigger literary work, they are told that chapter titles are placed inside quotation marks. Likewise, after students determine that a book is a WHOLE, complete literary work, they are told that book titles are underlined.

Students are taught that the following titles are underlined: books, magazines, albums, newspapers, TV shows, anthologies, movies, plays, artwork, ships, and aircraft.

Students are taught that the following titles are placed inside quotation marks: chapters, articles, songs, poems, episodes, reports, essays, short stories.

Next, students are told that the titles that need to be underlined are ITALICIZED when they are using a keyboard.

The PowerPoint concludes with 17 practice sentences that students must edit.

A 3-page PowerPoint companion handout is also included. Students write on the handout, recording their answers, as you advance through the PowerPoint.
