Punctuation marks are like superheroes for our writing! They save our sentences in many ways so that our writing is clearly understood. Let students use their creative side to turn their punctuation mark into a superhero!
There are six different punctuation mark worksheets (period, exclamation mark, question mark, comma, colon, and semi-colon). Give each student a different page. Have the students incorporate their punctuation mark in a drawing of a superhero. Then, they will complete the different parts of the worksheet. They will have to give the superhero a name that relates to the punctuation mark they were given (examples: Declaration Boy, The Interrogator). There is also a place for them to explain how their punctuation mark helps a sentence. Last, they will create 4 sentences using their punctuation mark correctly. While this is a fun project, the students are showing a deeper knowledge of punctuation marks and their function.
