Writing Workshop lesson cards to reinforce end punctuation-Aligns to Lucy Calkins Writing Workshop
Includes two cards (shown in the preview) to be used during the mini lesson-Teaching Point: All strong writers add end punctuation to their sentences. They don't let their sentences run away!!! Guided Practice: Two examples of sentences void of punctuation. Students can work in partnerships (guided practice) or whole group with teacher modeling to edit sentences for punctuation. The last two slides should be printed on different colored cardstock. The fourth page contains words used when beginning a sentence. The fifth page contains the words *and, so, then* to help students realize that when you see these red alarm words, it's time to STOP, end your sentence, and begin a new one.
Print on cardstock, laminate, and cut the last two pages
Thank you to Lucy Calkins and Teachers College for whom these cards were modeled after, following an observed lesson on punctuation.
