The posters make a great teaching tool and/or display, which students can always refer to while their working independently.
The large flash cards make for a perfect tool to have on hand in whole class shared reading, writing or guided reading and writing. I have 2 sets of punctuation flash cards made up… one for my whole class teaching area and one for my guided group learning table. I’ve laminated the cards and held together with a cable tie (after punching a hole in each corner with a hole punch). Then, whenever we’re discussing the punctuation aspect of concepts about print in a lesson, I can flip to the relevant punctuation flash card as a prompt.
Each poster has a title with the featured punctuation mark’s name, a brief explanation, an example of it in use and one of Melonheadz cute punctuation peps! The large flash cards have the punctuation mark’s name, a clear image of its symbol and the matching Melonheadz punctuation kid.
The punctuation marks included are:
~Period (or ‘Full stop’ option)
~Speech marks (or ‘Quotation Marks’ option)
