This two complete page assessment gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of both monohybrid and dihybrid crosses. The first complete page includes two four-square Punnett squares, one of which is a true monohybrid cross. Students will identify parent genotypes, complete the square, and then answer questions particular to the cross they just completed. These questions include percent yield for varying allele combinations and ratios. The complete second page include a single dihybrid cross. Students will again have to determine the genotype of parents but will now also have to identify the possible gamete combinations for each parent as well. Students will also color code each phenotype and then calculate percent yield as well.
This quiz is great to use as an assessment tool to determine whether your students are grasping the steps required to complete each cross.
