Pursuit for Mathletes is a great whole-group math activity that allows students to search the room for classmates that can solve various math problems in the given table. Once a student finds a classmate that can correctly solve a problem, he gets the 'Mathlete' to sign his name in the box. Not only are students searching, but they are also solving. The students continue the pursuit until all boxes containing math problems are solved and signed by class 'Mathletes'. This activity is great for the end of 5th grade or the beginning of 6th grade and makes for a fun get-to-know-each-other math activity. Search for Mathletes meets or exceeds the Common Core Standards of Mathematics.
