Are you looking for some fun and simple back to school kindergarten activities? This packet is part of a series of back to school items for primary learners. It reflects the foundational skills found in the Common Core. This is a great performance assessment for letters and sounds.
The first part of the packet provides simple cut and paste puzzles for writing letters and learning initial sounds. Students will trace the letters and match them to an image for that letter's sound. These pages can be completed during small group instruction, independently during literacy station time, or as homework.
The second part of the packet is made up of alphabet puzzles- two for every letter. Once you've modeled how to match the two parts, students should be able to use them independently. To help students check their work, put matching stickers on the back of the pieces that go together.
Combine these activities in any order to fit your school's reading program. Your students will be learning letters and initial sounds in no time!
This packet is also part of a bundle of 5 back to school packets being sold in my first ever TPT sale! Get the bundle at a discount here: Back to School Bundle
